Birch Light Counseling
Growth. Rebirth. New beginnings. Resiliency.
Birch Light Counseling provides integrative, holistic, clinical mental health services for youth, individuals, and families. We understand it takes vulnerability and courage to seek counseling services. It also takes a special relationship with your therapist to see the positive results you are seeking. Here, at Birch Light Counseling and Wellness, we use a variety of evidence-based practices to tailor our treatment to the individual clients we serve based on their biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. We are committed to being a safe place where growth and healing can occur.
Let us help you find your new beginning.
Birch trees are always one of the first trees to regrow after nature’s tragedies and one of the first trees to regrow leaves after the harsh winters. Under their beauty lies a strong willfulness to grow where nothing else can.

Hi, I'm Taylor!
I am a licensed clinical social worker and graduated with my degree from Grand Valley State University in 2017. Within my 8 years of experience, I have worked with children and families in numerous positions from schools, outpatient therapy, and medical primary care settings.
My passion lies in working with young children, teens, and families as they go through life transitions. I have completed a Sport Social Work Certification from University of Michigan, in order to work specifically with athletes who are struggling with mental health impacting their performance and within their personal life.
I specialize in ADHD, behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, LGBTQIA+, trauma, crisis/safety planning, and parental support. I am informed and use concepts from CBT, IFS, and play therapy. I use an attachment theory, strength based, and trauma focused approach. Ultimately, I believe healing begins in a nonjudgmental, safe relationship where you can feel comfortable enough to speak your truth. A space for kids and teens to be their authentic self, for parents to learn skills to support their children, and for families to heal as they navigate life’s difficult moments.
When I am not in my office, I enjoy spending my time with my husband and dogs in nature/outdoors, hiking/camping, traveling, gardening, or curled up reading a good book. If you feel I am the therapist for you, I genuinely can’t wait to walk alongside you on your journey!
